Why the Traveling Quilter?

I'm guessing that the title of my blog has caused a few raised eyebrows... What does she mean the traveling modern quilter? I travel Monday thru Friday for work (I am in Healthcare IT) and my little bit of sanity and pleasure comes from bringing my fabric (and my little Babylock!) with me! I quilt in the evening in my hotel rooms all across the United States!
The 'Modern' part comes from my choice in fabric and from the fact that I do not feel constrained to follow the traditional patterns completely. I think that adding a personal twist to make it a little 'fresher' makes the quilts more after my personality. I am a 30-something quilter who enjoys making beautiful things... and this is my journey! I started quilting early this year and plan to quilt (hopefully) till I am old and grey and can't hold a needle anymore!
